Businesses and homes across the Yorkshire Dales will benefit from access to broadband, according to the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.
The area is fairly remote, meaning technologies such as satellite broadband could be necessary in improving access across the county.
Following a meeting with NYnet, a commercial venture was set up to help drive the area's broadband rollout, Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority chairman Carl Lis stressed the importance of internet availability.
It is "unbelievable" that difficult terrain and a perceived lack of interest have hampered broadband rollout in the Yorkshire Dales previously, he declared.
"The authority is totally committed to helping to get broadband into the National Park in the best way possible," Mr Lis added.
A number of different community initiatives have already been set up to bring faster levels of internet access to the scenic region.
Nigel Adams, MP for Selby and Ainsty, recently told the Guardian it is vital Yorkshire gains superfast broadband speeds over the coming years.
