The lack of reliable broadband in a rural village in north-east Essex has been criticised.
Andrew Killick, who lives in Tendring, told the Harwich and Manningtree Standard he thinks the connection speeds available in the area are among the slowest in the country.
"Our broadband speed is typically 0.6 Mbps, yet only one tariff is available to us from our broadband provider and it is the highest tariff," he stated.
Mr Killick's claim that his broadband is among the slowest in the country may be accurate, as earlier this year uSwitch said the slowest broadband street in the UK has an average connection speed of just 0.6 Mbps.
That title was shared between Erw Fawr in Henryd, Conwy, Wales and Wheatley Road at Corringham, Stanford-le-Hope, which is also in Essex.
Mr Killick told the newspaper Tendring is a "lovely" area to live in but the lack of infrastructure causes serious problems.
