British Hollywood star unhappy with broadband cost header image

A leading British actor has complained about the potential cost of connecting his home to faster broadband.

Simon Pegg, who has starred in films such as Star Trek, Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, took to Twitter to voice his displeasure with the price quoted by BT to improve connectivity on his Herfordshire street.

"In other phone news BT, Europe's biggest telecom provider, have agreed to hook our street up for broadband. We just have to give then £21K," he tweeted yesterday (May 1st).

The actor had previously complained about the quality of 3G coverage.

While it is not known exactly where Pegg lives, ISPreview has speculated it is likely he falls into one of the areas not covered by the Connected Counties scheme, which aims to bring super-fast services to 90 per cent of Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

The actor is not the only Hollywood star to complain about broadband in the UK, as earlier this year Liz Hurley expressed her unhappiness with the lack of connectivity in the countryside.
