The MP for Lancaster and Fleetwood is unhappy a village in his constituency is to miss out on the rollout of super-fast broadband.

Speaking in parliament, Eric Ollerenshaw called on BT to provide answers as to why Glasson Dock will not receive an improved level of connectivity.

"Questions must be asked about what BT are up to in our area. There is a distinct lack of transparency about which areas BT are covering," he stated.

Mr Ollerenshaw said BT seems to be ignoring areas it is supposed to be covering and is instead focusing on regions under the scope of the Broadband for the Rural North project.

He is also unhappy that a detailed coverage map for the region has not been released by the company.

Mr Ollerenshaw's comments are the latest in a series of criticisms of BT this week after the Public Accounts Committee claimed the organisation has been allowed to establish a monopoly.
