Facebook is still the number-one social network among teenagers across the world, according to new research.
A report by GlobalWebIndex said that while there has been a small drop in the number of teens using the site, reports of its demise have been "greatly exaggerated".
The research firm found close to half of 16 to 19-year-olds use Facebook on a monthly basis and the social network has 67 per cent more active users than its nearest competitor.
Tom Smith, founder and chief executive of GlobalWebIndex, said: "Facebook is still the dominant, most popular social network on the planet."
Photo sharing site Instagram is the social network that has generated the most new teen users, with a 23 per cent increase during 2013. Facebook suffered a slight drop of three per cent, while Twitter grew two per cent.
Satellite broadband can provide an internet connection good enough to make the most of social media.
