Bad broadband 'holding back businesses' header image

Businesses across the UK are suffering due to poor quality broadband connections.

This is according to the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), which has warned the problem is holding back both domestic and international trade, the Press Association reports.

The organisation claimed companies in some regions are using connections that are so slow it is difficult to even send emails.

It highlighted Doncaster as one such area, describing broadband services in the Yorkshire town as an "embarrassment".

Mathew Lynds, managing director at local company Rejus, commented: "It makes things very difficult when trying to trade internationally and is a major problem for growth."

BCC director general John Longworth said the current situation is "unacceptable" and called for more to be done to improve the UK's broadband services.

"It is essential that massive investment in digital connectivity must proceed," he stated.

Businesses that need access to fast broadband immediately should consider switching to Avonline and Tooway satellite broadband.
