The number of purchases Britons made online increased in October, according to new statistics.
Figures from IMRG show internet sales were up by 15 per cent when compared to the same month in 2012.
Tina Spooner, chief information officer at the online retail association, commented: "Coming off the back of a strong comparator last October, the performance is still strong and bodes well for a positive Christmas for online retail."
Internet sales had grown by 18 per cent and 20 per cent in August and September respectively and purchases for 2013 as a whole are now 16 per cent higher than last year.
Electrical products sold well in October, with the release of new products like the iPhone 5S and 5C, Tesco's Hudl and the Argos MyTablet proving popular.
Mild weather meant clothing sales showed a weaker rate of growth, but the sector has still increased by 17 per cent on last year.
