EE is the broadband provider that had the most unhappy customers in the second quarter of 2013.
This is according to new statistics from telecommunications watchdog Ofcom, which revealed the company received 0.32 complaints for every 1,000 users throughout the period.
While this represents a reduction on previous figures, the number of EE customers with grievances is still nearly double the industry average. The main factors behind complaints were issues with billing and changing provider and EE has now been listed as the most complained about organisation for four quarters in a row.
Ranked second was TalkTalk, with an average of 0.29 people having grievances for every 1,000 customers. A similar figure was recorded for BT, with 0.28 complaints for each 1,000 users.
However, the overall number of complaints has fallen between quarter one and quarter two of this year.
Claudio Pollack, Ofcom's consumer group director, commented: "We're committed to giving consumers valuable information to help them choose a provider that best suits their needs. Consumer complaints also help us to identify where enforcement action is needed and ensure that providers comply with our rules."
The release of these figures by Ofcom coincides with BT's announcement that its broadband prices are set to rise for many of its customers. It has revealed it will charge more for some of its services from January 2014 onwards, with around ten million users set to be affected.
Broadband prices are expected to increase by 6.5 per cent, although current offers will be not be impacted by the rise.
BT has defended the move and claimed it is not related to the recent launch of its new BT Sport television channel.
