Many people with satellite broadband connections may be among those who use social networking site Twitter.

According to Tim Gibbon, founder and director of Elemental Communications, the popularity of the domain does not appear to be waning.

In fact, he claimed it is still growing and, as of yet, has not reached "critical mass".

Mr Gibbon continued by saying the service has "no intention of going anywhere".

Furthermore, it will challenge any competitors that attempt to fill the gaps in areas where Twitter has shortcomings.

It is continually "developing its own tools to distinguish its position in the marketplace" and, by doing so, hopes to improve services while increasing revenue, the expert concluded.

However, individuals who use Twitter may wish to be on the lookout for scams and other cyber attacks.

This is because, according to the latest spam report from Kaspersky Lab, there has been an increase in the number of phishing attacks taking place on social networking sites such as Facebook.
