A large area of west London was left without broadband and TV services on April 7th after an attempted theft at a Virgin Media network hub.
The company said a "major outage" occurred, which left some people with a lack of connectivity for around 24 hours, ISPreview reports.
Residents in Hayes, Slough, Uxbridge, Ruislip, Twickenham, Hounslow and the surrounding areas were affected by the problems, which included slow speeds, loading issues and a loss of TV services.
Customers were left unhappy when the Virgin Media forum team refused to reveal what had caused the outage.
However, after being contacted by ISPreview a spokesperson provided details on the incident.
"Following a suspected attempted theft at one of our sites, some of our customers in the Slough area may have experienced disruption to their broadband and TV services.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time,” they stated.
Connectivity was restored by Monday evening and Virgin Media is believed to be monitoring the network to ensure it remains stable.
