Greater London Authority seeks broadband partner header image

The Greater London Authority (GLA) is looking for a partner to aid the rollout of super-fast broadband across the capital.

It has been awarded a sum of between £10 and £25 million from the Urban Broadband Fund (UBF) to improve connectivity in parts of the city.

The UBF is specifically designed to upgrade broadband services in the UK's largest cities and to support the deployment of download speeds between 80 and 100 Mbp/s.

The GLA revealed it will be starting the procurement process for the improvement of London's broadband in a prior statement published by the Official Journal of the European Union. reports the organisation said it would not comment on the issue while the procurement process was still ongoing.

There have been several developments concerning internet connections in London in recent weeks.
