A local MP has criticised the lack of progress in the rollout of super-fast broadband in the Scottish Highlands.
Alan Reid, the MP for Argyll and Bute, has expressed frustration that the contract for the project, which was announced last June, has still not been signed.
A £120 million deal between BT and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) has been agreed to bring high-speed broadband to the area, but there have been difficulties finalising terms.
Mr Reid commented: "Delivering broadband throughout the Highlands and Islands is vitally important and it’s disappointing that signing this contract has been delayed yet again."
He said the companies were provided with government funding for the project over two years ago and claimed it is "high time they spent it to bring broadband to those communities without it".
The MP explained that he has asked for an explanation from HIE and wants the company to "pull out all the stops" to start work as soon as possible.
